The journey started in the summer of 2014. I did my first track day with a new-to-me Honda S2000 in NCM Motorsports Park. I was overwhelmed by the experience and both extremely-upset and super-excited. I don't like to be defeated in an activity I thought I can do well, just like every other man on this planet. But I do like the rush and the ZONE i had later on while driving.
Going from HPDE1 to HPDE4 took me four years, two engines, couple transmissions and the majority of components on the S2000. It is not easy nor cheap. But it is very rewarding and the most fun I have had so far.
To be a proficient driver, there were a lot of things to learn. I read everything I can get my hands on and went to get proper trainings in racing schools and proper mechanic trainings after I did a driveway engine swap. As of 2018, I went through all the ASE certificate exams and obtaining a SCCA racing permit. It is a milestone for me, as I am leaving North America, away from easily accessible track, car parts and the racing communities.
The plan in 2019 is to continue this journey in China. I am not sure what car to get, as TA&W2W is a big part of tracking in China. The car can be really beaten up on the track. Chinese are competitive with each other. : )
Couple options I have are Fit/GK5, NC with manual swap, BRZ or BMW m4 etc. I really want a NB Miata though. I want a car that can progress with me overtime and I'd prefer a rear wheel drive platform.
The S2000 page is a service history of my S2000 that I want to document and share. It will have more details when I have more time.
